EA is the company that manufactures the popular Madden NFL 13 game, and every year they play the Super Bowl on their game, and this year, they’re calling it for the Ravens. Why is that significant?
The EA Super Bowl prediction has been the most consistent predictor of the outcome of the game in recent year, so it’s a pretty positive thing they have the Baltimore Ravens defeating the San Francisco 49ers, 27-24.
The EA prediction has proven correct 7 of the last nine years. It’s not perfect, but that’s better than almost any TV yacker, especially Bill Cowher.
In the simulated game, Joe Flacco is the MVP following a 19 of 27 passing day, for 260 yards. Justin Tucker booted a late field goal to give the Ravens the lead after the Niners had rallied to tie the game. But it was veteran Ed Reed providing the clincher when he picked off a Colin Kaepernick pass to seal the deal.
