Jhaqueil Reagan had to suddenly become a man. His mom passed away, and he had to go out and get a job to support his siblings. And that’s where our story begins…
Jhaqueil has no transportation, and a bus route did not go to the Dairy Queen in Indianapolis where he had arranged a job interview. The night before, a blizzard coated the town in snow and ice. Jhaqueil left in plenty of time to walk the TEN MILES to the restaurant.
Enter Art Bouvier, who owns a restaurant on the same street where Jhaqueil was walking. Art was clearing the snow from the sidewalks when Jhaqueil asked him for directions. After telling him how to get there, Art realizes that it’s eight miles away.
Driving back home, he passes Jhaqueil continuing his march to the Dairy Queen. Art then realizes that the kid is possessed with a quality he would like to have in his employees. He posted on facebook to help find Jhaqueil, who had accepted the job at Dairy Queen. After tracking him down, Art gave him a job at twice the pay the DQ was offering.
When the story made it to the local news, the bus company kicked in free bus passes to get him to his new job.
So if you’re ever in Indianapolis, make sure to stop by Papa Roux’s Cajun Cooking and give Art the business, and say hi to Jhaqueil while you’re there.
