This is a sad story, but it must be told. Miss Delaware Teen USA (right, above) has been forced to give up her title after video came out of her on the internet. When you make a mistake on the internet, it doesn’t go away.
In November, Melissa King earned the title of Miss Delaware Teen and now she’s stepped down after an explicit sex video of her has surfaced. Well, not really surfaced, it’s been there since she turned 18, but someone pointed out to pageant officials that this video existed.
A few days ago, she tweeted, quote, “Once you move on in life people shouldn’t try to use your past against you. Let them be happy.” So it seems she knew this was coming.
Melissa grew up in foster care from ages 12 to 18. And her platform for Miss Delaware Teen USA was to help work with and mentor foster kids.
The lesson here is if you did something that was recorded to video, and someone uploads it to the internet, it can pop up at any time to mess with your life. It could cost you a job or a relationship. Be careful out there.
