Do you recognize the young man in the drawing above?
He once was part of a troupe of cartoon characters that entertained kids throughout the 90’s, and now he’s grown up.
An Omaha, Nebraska artist has re imagined the cast of the early 90’s Nickelodeon series “Rugrats” as they would look today as adults in their late 20’s.
It’s weird and it’s wonderful, but I just think they’re a little too hipster than I what I imagined. I guess I could draw my own since they’re fictional.
Artist Celeste Pille created Rugrats Grown Up, a fantastic series of drawings that reimagine characters from Nikelodeon’s animated television series Rugrats in their 20s. You can view the full collection of characters on Celeste’s art blog. (And do check out some of her other work, it’s really good.)
The young man in the drawing on the front page? That’s Tommy.
And here’s the rest of them…
And here’s the original Rugrats, and as they looked in a short lived series where they were in Middle School.
